When it’s hard, they get to be the hero.

A picture book starring your child, written around the exact thing they’re finding tough. Starting school, a new baby, the dark, big feelings.

Storybook illustration for starting school

This is Ruby. Tomorrow Ruby starts kindergarten.

Ruby's tummy felt fizzy, like lemonade. "That's a wobbly feeling," said Mom. "Lots of brave people feel wobbly."

How it works

  1. Tell us what’s going on

Five minutes of easy questions. Who they are, what’s tricky, who helps them, what they love.

  2. Read their story, free

We write a 12-scene story in seconds. Tweak anything and rewrite it until it sounds like your family.

  3. We illustrate it

Your child is drawn into every page. Read it tonight on screen, or get a hardcover delivered.

Every story hands them a brave trick.

Each book follows the approach teachers and child psychologists use to prepare kids for new things: show what will really happen, name the feeling, and practise one simple way to cope. Your child watches themselves do it, so the trick is theirs.

Dragon breaths

“Ruby breathed in slow through her nose like a sleepy dragon, then blew the air out long and warm. One. Two. Three. Her tummy stopped fizzing.”

The last page has three questions to ask after reading, so the conversation keeps going.

Questions parents ask

How personal does it get?

Very. You tell us their name, how old they are and what they look like, then the specifics: what they say at drop-off, the toy they sleep with, who helps them, the baby's name. All of it goes into the story.

Do I have to upload a photo?

No. You can build their character by choosing skin tone, hair colour and style instead. A photo just gets a closer likeness.

What happens to my child's photo?

It's used only to draw the character in your book. We delete the photo as soon as the illustrations are finished, never use it to train AI, and never share it. Unused photos are deleted automatically after 30 days.

Can I read the story before paying?

Yes. You read the whole story for free, change details and rewrite it until it feels right. You only pay when you're happy with the words.

How long does it take?

The digital book is usually ready in about ten minutes. Hardcovers are printed to order near you and usually arrive within 5 to 10 business days.

Is this therapy?

No. Bravelings books are built on the same storytelling approach educators use to prepare kids for new situations, and they're great for everyday challenges. If your child is really struggling, please talk to your doctor or a child psychologist.

Brave doesn’t mean not scared.

It means scared and doing it anyway. Give them a story that shows them how.
